One more Month of Blogger!

Hi All,

I hope you are all having a super summer! I had a great time in Egypt and I am enjoying relaxing. In 2 weeks we will all be back to school...

This blog will be taken down on 1st September 2011. It will be sad to see it go as we can trace our time in P6/7 through here :) However, all good things must come to an end.

Enjoy posting in the last month, keep us updated ex P7's with your first few weeks at the Academy if you can and I look forward to seeing all the future P7's in 2 weeks!

Hello Everyone!

Hey Guys, What is everyone up to then?, i hope you are all having wonderful summer holidays. Also I hope you are having fun Miss Robinson in Egypt!, and we are wondering if we are keeping blogger? (we hope we are).

Independence day America 4 of July!

It's Independence day in America. Would love to be there. wonder what they do and this will probable be my last post on the blog. I am so upset. Everyone have a good summer and hope the weather says nice.!

Summer Fun!

Well P6/7 what an emotional last day! P7 you will have a fantastic time at the Academy and I am sure you will find time to come back and tell us all about it (Jason - keep in touch with everyone through Glow!)...P6 I am looking forward to teaching you again next year as P7s :)

Well done everyone that was a part of Grease we were amazing. Jason Singh and Lisa Paton you two were outstanding, well done!! If you enjoyed Grease just as much as i did please comment back!!

swimming is almost over!!!

AWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! On Monday the last swimming session is on and the P7s might miss it! At least it is a fun session!I've made a swimming animation in powerpoint so use the arrow buttons!

3 Days to go

Its only three days till the show so i`m telling everybody not to be nervous and go out there and blow the roof off especially p7s its our last at primary so enjoy it

Academy was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN!. I hope everone thought that to, and i hope Miss Robinson and the primary 6's had fun aswell.

Everthing was great, and the activities that we did were brilliant!

I hope all the p7 had sooooooooooooooooooo much fun at the acadamy like i did. we done lots of stuff and in the afternoon we had a concert me and all my friends sang and danced all the time (I was the best). cant wait to go to the next induction day and then finally go for real

There's no news like Glow News...

Every second Friday Nursery-P7 at Bridgend tune in to ‘Glow News’. Each class shares their learning and sometimes the children even make a fun quiz about the current news to test their audience’s knowledge. These Glow Meets have proven very popular as they are helping the staff and children become more familiar with the different aspects of a Glow Meet. We’re pretty sure there is no news programme like our Glow News!

SWIMMING!!!!!!!!! :D

Well where to start, IT'S BRILLIANT!. Swimming is a great activity at school, and it helps everyone get better at swimming. :D

'A Night at the Movies'...Coming Soon!

Bridgend Primary School’s ‘A Night at the Movies’ is just around the corner (4 weeks and counting!). P6/7 are really looking forward to their performance of ‘Grease’ which includes lots of singing, dancing and generally being very dramatic. All of the classes are working hard on their own productions – P1/2 are doing ‘The Jungle Book’, P3/4 ‘Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang’ and P5/6 ‘The Lion King’. Infact as you walk around the school you can hear most pupils and teachers humming their movie tunes!

In the build up to the big night the children are all putting lots of effort into their performances, as well as learning about film and the film industry. They are most excited about the red carpet and are busy guessing who will win the Oscars on the night!

It is fair to say ‘A Night at the Movies’ is proving to be a very popular, entertaining and rather LOUD whole school topic, but one which everyone is enjoying

Bridgend Football Team WINNERS of George Allan Cup!!

A big well done to all the P6 and P7 pupils who played in the George Allan Cup Tournament on Sunday 15th May at Linlithgow Rose pitches. You all played fantastically! Not only did you win the cup, you also conceded NO GOALS and did the whole school proud with your professional sportsmanship.

Scottish Elections...Bridgend Elections!

P6/7 have enjoyed making up political parties, manifestos and policies over the last few weeks. We have learned lots about budgets, the priorities of our electorate and how to write an effective speech!

Our parties will take part in an election on Thursday 5th May at 2 pm. via a LIVE GLOW MEET. In addition to this we have organised for P6 and P7 at Linlithgow and Lowport to tune in on Wednesday 4th May for a practise GLOW ELECTION.

P6/7 are looking forward to sharing our political knowledge with cluster schools and our own school! REMEMBER TO VOTE!

Easter Glow Meet Success!

Well done to Lisa and Becky (with the technical help of Katie!) who led an Easter Storyroom Special! Lots of schools from across West Lothian logged in to watch the girls read the story 'Hot Cross Bunny' and everyone was impressed with how well they read. They read very clearly, had super expression and remained in character throughout the story. A big pat on the back girls - Bridgend and P6/7 were very proud of you!

Now P6/7 lets get ready for our school storyroom sessions as we are going to lead these to start with...who would like a shot?

 

Royal Wedding Celebrations!

Although we were off school for the big day, P6/7 still celebrated the Royal Wedding in style. As well as writing newspaper reports about how we would celebrate the Royal wedding, we also designed and made Royal Wedding commemorative plates.

Happy Easter & end of the holidays!

Well P6/7 I hope you have all had fantatsic Easter holidays - Happy Easter to you all!

A gentle reminder that Literacy Circle homework is due on the first day back (TUESDAY 26TH APRIL). This week and next week we will be looking at the Scottish Election and forming our own parties for the school to vote for on Thursday 5th May. After that, we will be steaming ahead with our performance of Grease!

There will be lots of dates for diaries this term, so please make sure you have this with you everyday!

Well p6/7 holidays nearly over and school starts back but its not a bad thing as we are going to be doing America and Grease :)

Glow - Early Years Storyroom

I know that everyone in P6/7 has excellent ICT skills and enjoys using Glow and Blogger. Through our animations, PPT's, newspaper reports, digital art sessions, Orkney Glow Meets (the list is endless!) you have all shown your confidence in all things technological.

We have the opportunity to become part of a West Lothian Glow Meet on Friday 8th April at 10.15. During this Glow Meet 2 P6/7's will read an Eatser themed story to other schools in West Lothian. Perhaps we could paint our faces as Easter Bunnies to get everyone in the mood? Is there anyone out there who thinks they would like to do this? Applications in the form of a blogger post please!

Easter Fair!

On the 1st of April at Bridgend primary we are having a Easter Fair. there will be lots of stuff there like hot dogs candle on sale and bracelets and More More More!!

Hope you can come please tell your parents. each class will be making something for this fair so the things will be home made and will be very cheap. there will also be a raffle and tombola which is for kids and adults( cant wait,)

Also please bring in some old stuff so we can sell it in the  brick-a -brac sale to raise money for BRIDGEND PRIMARY SCHOOL.
